Song of Songs

Song of Songs is a unique biblical book. It is the only extended corpus of love poetry in the Bible. Without mention of God and written in marvelous poetry, full of evocative and vivid images, it is a celebration of sexual love and marital fidelity between a woman and a man but yet it does not mention specific biblical regulations regarding human sexuality or the concern for procreation. The forthrightness and evocative nature of the poetry has resulted in different interpretation of the book throughout Jewish and Christian history. This study seeks to uncover the theological truths behind the book and explore their implications on our Christian living today while bearing in mind its specific context.
